Beacon Calendar (“Beacon,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is designed to help you never miss important events by turning your calendar notifications into unmissable iOS alarms. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Calendar Access

  • Beacon requests access to your iOS system calendar in order to read event details (such as event title, time, location, attendees, and alerts).
  • This information stays on your device. Beacon does not send your calendar data to external servers.

Alarm Scheduling

  • We use Apple’s AlarmKit to create alarms on your device.
  • Alarm configurations (like the event they belong to, the time, and your chosen rules) are stored locally on your phone.

App Usage Data

  • Beacon does not collect analytics, tracking, or personally identifiable information by default.
  • If we introduce optional analytics in the future, we will ask for your explicit consent.

How We Use Information

  • To scan your calendar events locally on your device.
  • To apply your rules (e.g., “always set an alarm for events with more than 3 attendees”).
  • To create and manage alarms through iOS.
  • To remember your preferences and rules between app sessions.

What We Don't Do

  • We do not sell your data.
  • We do not share your calendar or alarm information with third parties.
  • We do not upload your events, contacts, or alarms to our servers.

Your Choices

  • You can revoke Beacon’s access to your calendar at any time through iOS Settings.
  • You can delete the app to remove all stored data and alarms.
  • You can edit or delete your rules and alarms directly in the app.

Security

Since all event and alarm data stays on your device, your privacy is protected by iOS itself. Beacon does not maintain external servers with your data, reducing the risk of exposure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last Updated” date at the top. If material changes are made, we’ll notify you within the app.
